Traveling Allowance
The Govt. of Punjab allows Civil Servants to draw the traveling allowance in respect of journeys performed by them. For this purpose, rule 1.12 of the Punjab Travelling Allowance Rules described the types of journeys which is stated as under;
List of Journeys
As per Rule 1.12 of the Punjab Travelling Allowance Rules, on following journeys, the civil servants are entitled to draw the Travelling Allowance.
a) On the tour;
b) on the transfer;
c) on joining the first
appointment;
d) on retirement, suspension,
dismissal, or termination of employment;
e) to attend a course
of training or to appear at an examination;
f) to give evidence
in a court or to attend an inquiry or conference;
g) to obtain or
furnish medical advice or treatment;
h) to attend a darbar
or an official function;
i) in attendance on
an incapacitated civil servant or member of his family; and
j) (for) any other purpose authorized by a competent authority.
Road Mileage in case of Provision of Govt. Vehicle.
In light of Rule 2.30, Note(2) of the Punjab Travelling Allowance Rules, Civil servants have not entitled to road mileage who have provided Government vehicles. The Same reproduced as under;
Note (2)-- Where a Government vehicle is provided for use by and made available to civil servant he shall not be entitled to any road mileage.
