Whatsapp in planning to roll out a new Feature “Text detection” on iOS-16 for some beta testers.

In a recent article regarding the Whatsapp beta designed for iOS 22.24.0.76 update.  The company has informed us that it is rolling out new feature Text detection.  Whatsapp text detection will help Whatsapp users to detect the text within the images shared in Whatsapp chat.  Now the users of Whatsapp can easily copy the text within the images shared in Whatsapp conversations.  The company released the following screenshot in this regard. 

As this feature is only for iOS 16, so its users can check the availability of this feature in the Whatsapp beta version by following these steps.

 

Step 01. Launch Whatsapp in iOS 16

Step 02. Open a Whatsapp conversation

Step 03. Open the image shared in the conversation on Whatsapp

Step 04. Are you find the Text detection button?. If yes, the feature is available on your device.

Note:- If you find that the feature is available on your device and you want to extract the text displayed within the image.  You have to do some more in addition to foregoing steps

Step 05. Tap on the text detection button

Step 06. Select the text

Step 07. Choose one option from the pop-up message i.e. copy, select all, look up, or translate. 

 

The company also explained that this feature is exclusively for the users of iOS 16 and this service is not provided by Whatsapp.  But this feature is supported by the Whatsapp company with the help of system API.  If you are users of iOS and using the older version of iOS then you can use this feature in your device.
