Increase in pay of all employees of Prosecution Department - Punjab

Special Allowance for Prosecution Department

The Government of Punjab, Finance Department has issued a notification of No FD.SR-V.6-6/2006(P-1) Dated 19-01-2023 regarding enhancement of special allowance of the prosecutors (BS-17) and above officers and officials (BS-01 to Bs-20) working under the Punjab Criminal Prosecution Service. In the said notification the Government has increased the pay of all officers and officials of the prosecution department.  This increase has been made in the shape of a special allowance.  In the said notification the Government has allowed drawing special allowances equal to 1.25, 01, and 0.75 of the initial basic pay.  The main aspects of the said notification are as under.

Special Allowance

The Government has allowed drawing special allowances to all the officers and officials of the prosecution Department.

Discontinuation of allowances

In the said notification, it is also clarified by the Competent authority that the existing special allowance Non-Practicing allowance, Special allowance 2021, and Special allowance 2022 have been discontinued.

Date of admissibility

This allowance will be admissible to all officers and officials of the said department with effect from 01-01-2023.

Rate of Allowance

The Authority bifurcates the criteria of admissibility as user

 1)      1.25 of initial basic pay for DG/Addl. Prosecutors General / Deputy Prosecutors General.

2)      1.0 of initial basic pay for District/Deputy/ Assistant District Public Prosecutors.

3)      0.75 of initial basic pay for Officers/officials (non-prosecutors) of criminal prosecution service.

 

Terms and Conditions

1. This allowance will be subject to the following terms and conditions;
2. This allowance will not be admissible during extraordinary Leave (EOL), Study Leave, Leaves beyond 90 days
3. The officers or officials under suspension will not be entitled to draw it.
4. It will not be allowed on Deputation, Deputation abroad, or Training Abroad.
5. The incumbents will not be allowed to enjoy if they are working outside the cadre or in any department of the secretariat.
6. During the period of OSD if beyond 90 days
7. The officers were placed as OSD due to any department inquiry on the basis of inefficiency, charges of misconduct or indiscipline, or facing disciplinary proceedings under the PEEDA ACT.
8. The families of civil servants who died while in service.
9. It will not be part of the pension
10. It will not be counted for while calculation of commutation.
11. To calculate the recovery of House Rent, it will not be considered.
